Loving Our Neighbors

As you heard in the video, we received some helpful information from the Neighborhood Survey we sent out. We would greatly appreciate it if you could do the following:

  • Pray about how you might help love our neighbors either by A) owning one of the ministries listed below or B) supporting one that already has a leader.
  • Take the next step by either contacting the leader to let them know you’d like to help, or by contacting Ben to let him know you’d like to lead one of these opportunities.

  • If you have an idea we haven’t thought of or a heart for a ministry not listed here, please fill out this New Outreach Ministry Application to let us know what it is! We would love to equip our people to run with the ideas the Lord places on their hearts.

Neighborhood Activities

Neighborhood Party – Tentatively July 31st

A fun day for our church and neighborhoods filled with grilled food, bounce houses, cornhole and yard games, face-painting, free gifts and all the rest.

Exercise Class

We are looking for someone to oversee holding an exercise class at our church.  It may be as simple as opening the doors, having some water bottles ready to go, and turning on an exercise video!  If we add childcare that’s an extra wrinkle but would draw quite a crowd no doubt.

Community Garden – Starting Soon!

This summer we will be piloting a small community garden in the field adject to our church facility.

Date Night (Free Babysitting)

I think the name says it all.  Who wouldn’t want free childcare for a date night?

Family Movie Night

We have a large screen and some great speakers.  Why not have the neighbors over for a movie for the whole family and some snacks to boot?

Cooking Class

Our church is full of great cooks (come find out at our potluck on May 15th!), and our neighbors said they’d love to come and learn some new recipes.  This class will likely be piloted over a course of 6-8 weeks in the summer or beginning early fall.

Board Game Night

I know we have some board game connoisseurs among us.  Who wants to have a board game night for the neighborhood?

Backyard Bible Clubs

Rather than bringing people to the church for Vacation Bible School, we bring the VBS to the neighborhoods. This prepackaged 2 hour program is easy to execute and a lot of fun for your neighbors, plus a great way to tell kids about the love of Jesus.

Veteran’s Ministry

Have you served in the United States Armed Services?  If so, you may be interested in a new Veteran’s Ministry our church is looking to start. The goal of the group is to serve the veteran population of the church and to be a witness to fellow veterans for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Out of this Ministry, we want to have projects where we could support veterans in the community.
